The Regional Consortium for Research in Generational Economics (CREG) and the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) via the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) concluded a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU ) for a period of five (05) years aimed at strengthening their cooperation in research, knowledge production and sharing, capacity building and public policy dialogue.
This partnership is part of a shared ambition: to put evidence-based data, scientific expertise and innovation at the service of more effective public policies that are better adapted to the demographic and socio-economic transformations of Africa.
The collaboration will notably strengthen initiatives related to generational economics, the demographic dividend, human capital, demographic dynamics, social protection, resilience and climate finance and statistical data systems, while promoting training, exchanges of expertise and the establishment of joint initiatives at continental level.
Through this MoU , CREG and IDEP reaffirm their commitment to bringing research closer to public decision-making and to contributing to African policies that are more based on data, knowledge and evidence.
This MoU also constitutes a new step in building African partnerships to serve inclusive, sustainable and evidence-based development.
