The “Care Work and the Economy” project aims to improve understanding and management of the care economy, with particular reference to the needs of childcare and care for the elderly. The project seeks to integrate gender dimensions into macroeconomic models, develop methodological tools to assess the costs and economic benefits of investments in care services, and estimate future care demands by taking into account projections of population growth, labor market participation and health status.

The structuring of care significantly influences our economic and social framework, affecting every person therein. It intertwines with factors such as gender, age, migration status, citizenship, race, and socio-economic disparities.
