About Us

Who we are ?

We are an international collaboration of several prestigious institutions: the African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC), the Universities of Bristol and Toronto, the Regional Generational Economics Research Consortium (CREG), the Institute for Economic Justice (IEJ), and the Afrifem Macroeconomics Collective (NAWI). In partnership with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the UNFPA offices in Kenya and Senegal, we are undertaking a three- to five-year programme of research and policy engagement.

Our mission

Our programme aims to inform and advance the development of transformative care systems and economies for Africa. We focus on early childhood care (ECC) and long-term care (LTC) for older people who can no longer live independently without assistance.
